So, after quite a delay, here’s our new blog.
Well, we arrived in Bali without any major trouble on the way, something that has been rare when we’ve been travelling together. Every other country we’ve been too so far has been fucking us over every time we decided to leave. So this was a new experience for us, though we almost missed our flight out of Malaysia, Air Asia apparently has their own airport. Got to the gate minutes before it closed… Puh!
We found a sweet hotel almost right away and decided to stay. Really cool guys running it too; Yoman, Koma and a retarded guy who made late breakfast for us every day! Great location too, a few minutes walk to the closest beach, shopping areas and clubs, all for around 17$ a night for the both of us… That included a Air-Con, something we’d never had before, cool stuff!
After two days of chillaxin’ we were ready to hit the surf shops and scout for boards, there were a lot to choose from but we soon settled with a nice one each. It was cheap one too- 2 bucks a day for a decent board. Clint spent most of his time regaining his old skills in the water and at the same time trying to teach Johan, a hopeless case he would soon be... Johan seems to like the kind of board made for snow a bit more. He did try though… Surfing went up and down, some days we spent all day in the water others we didn’t go near the water at all, rather spending the day in bed as the night before was spent either drinking or watching movies ‘till late (we went through a fair bunch of ‘em).
What about Bali’s party scene? Well, it’s pretty good actually, fair amount of good looking girls, cool clubs but a bit pricy for our budget. Prices didn’t stop us though; we just started drinking a bit earlier at night and were pretty juiced up by the time we got into the clubs. We soon started playing a dare game every time we went out, by ourselves or with people we were out with. Basically taking turns at daring each other to do stupid shit to the poor suckers in the club. For example Clint had to walk up to some random girl, compliment her and then ask for a drink in return, then Jo had to go up to another girl and without much prior conversation ask to hold her hand (until she pulled it back away). We basically acted like idiots, but we had a great time, and probably pissed some random people off at the same time.
During our time in Bali we were yet again contacted by our dear friend Angel, she was coming to Bali too brining her boy Lennie (were they following us or what?). Naturally we hooked up yet again and had a few great days and nights out together, surfing and partying.
One night we met a cool couple living right next door to us, we made friends and decided to go out all dressed up (in our case that meant dressed down), wearing nothing but flip-flops, boxers, a tie with an additional (pink!) bag and a yellow umbrella we hit the streets. Needless to say the guys were envious and hating. The girls on the other hand loved us and we quickly became the center of attention wherever we went. We tore the club apart, posing in photos with all the girls and having guys approaching us trying to pick a fight we had, without a doubt, the best night out!! Clint even did some pole dancing! To top the night off, we met the drunkest Lennie you could possibly find (Angel had gone to bed early due to the regular side effects you would suffer from a bit too much alcohol) and our cool New York-friend Max who we befriended on the streets of Bangkok. What a night!
Bali was in ways pretty much a step back, comparing to Koh Pangnang and Malaysia. Beggars in the streets sending their kids chasing us for money, annoying salesmen trying to sell us anything from beer-coolers and scooters to magic mushrooms and other illegal substances terrorized us wherever we went. Add cars and scooters driving all over the place and you end up somewhere between India and Bangkok on the list of everyday shit that will sooner rather than later piss you off quite a lot!
Bali was our last stop on this amazing journey we’ve had together, and it really has been an adventure, gone almost halfway around the globe, experiencing ups and downs together, partying like animals and supporting each other when our unhealthy lifestyles has taken the best of us. We’ve seen cultures so far from our own, poverty, corruption and pretty fucking annoying bureaucracy. All together our soup has got a fair bit of everything, and even as some of the tastes has been kind of bitter, we really have to say, now that it’s finished, that it tasted pretty damn good!

** But it’s not over yet! Clint is coming to Sweden pretty soon and we’ve decided to keep this shit going. So, the next post may be from Clint or Jo wherever he/she is at in his/her travels until we meet back up (which should be fairly soon). So… stay tuned, eh?
